What residential cleaning services do you provide?
We provide regular domestic cleaning for a minimum contracted period. Housekeeping services such as washing and
ironing are included at no extra charge within the regular domestic cleaning rate. We also provide ‘one off’ cleans in
the form of end of tenancy cleaning services, pre-tenancy cleaning services, after party cleans and after-builders
work. For a minimum call out charge we also can provide sole upholstery and carpet cleaning.
All our cleaners are fully insured. Please see out terms and conditions for details regarding what we would be liable
for in the event of any accidents caused by our cleaners.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee - in the unlikely event that you are not happy with the work we will
return until you are happy or offer a refund if the issues cannot be resolved.
I am worried about security and the quality of the cleaners provided. How do you ensure trust and quality
control amongst your staff?
Professionalism, trust and reliability are Bloomsbury Cleaning Service’s core aim and main strength. Unlike most
other London cleaning companies, all our cleaners are employed directly by the company and are well-known and
trusted by our managers. Many of the other cheaper London based cleaning companies employ contractors, who are
not known by their management staff and frequently work on an ad-hoc basis for numerous other cleaning
companies. We randomly check staff on site to ensure quality control, and for one-off cleans such as end of tenancy
jobs, we will always review the work afterwards to ensure the job has proceeded in accordance with our quality
control standards.
When we take on new staff we subject them to rigorous security checks and ensure they pass our own unique
training programme. A period of probation will then follow, where they will be paired and mentored by one of our
long standing members of staff and regularly checked on site by management for two months. Taking this approach
to our cleaning work does mean that our rates will in some cases be higher than other cleaning companies. However,
if you believe in receiving the most trustworthy and highest quality of cleaning services, then you have come to the
right place.
How do I spot a contracted cleaner?
1. The company may request that you pay a monthly fee, and then pay the contractor yourself on the day of the
work.
2. The company does not state specifically on their web site that they employ the cleaners directly - its a big selling
point if they do, so if they omit this information its a certainty!
3. The company requests that you pay the cleaner a certain amount, and the company a lesser amount per hour.
Why do you not charge for Congestion Charge?
We hate the Congestion Charge, and we are sure you do as well! As our offices were originally located within
Bloomsbury (hence the name of the company) a large proportion of our customers are located within the charging
zone. We therefore can absorb the cost of the Congestion Charge rather than pass it on to our customers. Nice isn’t
it?
Who is responsible for providing cleaning detergents and equipment?
For regular domestic cleans we have found that 90% of customers want their own cleaning detergents and equipment
to be used. If however you would like us to use our own cleaning detergents and materials, there is a small
surcharge of £1 per visit. We would request however, that you supply bulky equipment such as hoovers and a
portable ladder if needed. For end of tenancy and other one-off cleans such as carpet cleaning and after party
cleaning, we will bring our own professional cleaning equipment and detergents.
What will your cleaners not clean?
Our cleaners will not clean the outside of windows. They will not perform specialised or deep cleans on any antique,
delicate or valuable items. They will not clean inside machinery such as inside extractor fan filters unless requested
and quoted for.
What if the cleaner damages something?
In the unlikely event of this happening, you can rest assured that we are fully insured for such occurrences, and we
will fully replace or repair an item if we are responsible. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more
information.
Will the same cleaner come every week?
Yes, the same cleaner will come every week unless prohibited by illness or similar. In which case we will provide a
suitable replacement.
Can the cleaner come when I am at work or out?
Yes, we ensure that all keys are locked securely away in our red care monitored alarmed office so you can trust us
with them. Most of our customers are at work when we undertake regular domestic cleaning.
